The Blood on our Controllers est un documentaire qui met en lumière les liens étroits entre l’industrie du jeu vidéo et le complexe militaro-industriel, ainsi que les problèmes de représentation des communautés Arabes dans nos jeux.
C’est une œuvre collaborative réunissant développeurs, artistes, animateurs et universitaires afin d’analyser les points forts et les points faibles de nos jeux, d’imaginer ce que l’industrie pourrait être et de comment nous pourrions concrétiser cette vision.
Le documentaire s’adresse aussi bien aux créateurs de jeux qu’aux joueurs. C’est un appel à l’action et un signal d’alarme, non seulement pour ceux qui façonnent l’industrie, mais aussi pour ceux qui en jouissent. Son objectif est d’inspirer les créateurs à construire un avenir plus inclusif et éthique pour le jeu vidéo, d’encourager les joueurs à adopter une approche plus éthique et consciente du média qu’ils consomment.
Malgré son ton critique, le documentaire transmet un message d’espoir, insistant sur le potentiel de notre industrie, plutôt que d’être fataliste quant à son état actuel.

The blood on our Controllers is a documentary made to shine the light on the close relation between the video game industry and the military industrial complex, and the problem of Arab representation in games.
It’s a collaborative work between developers, artists, animators, and academicians to show how our games are doing wrong or right, what the game industry could be, outlining the steps needed to make that vision reality.
The documentary addresses game creators as well as players, serving as a call to action and a wake-up call for those in the industry and those benefiting from it. It seeks to inspire creators to work toward a brighter and more inclusive future for gaming, and gamers for them to play ethically and understand the media they consume.
Despite its critical tone, the documentary conveys a message of hope, emphasizing the potential for positive change rather than dwelling on despair.
